About Us

Girls on the Run of Greater Knoxville is fortunate to have a diverse and dynamic team of leaders, advisors, and coaches.  Everyone involved in this organization is passionate about helping girls grow into strong, healthy, and self-confident young women who can say, "I belong just the way I am."

Girls on the Run of Greater Knoxville began programming in the fall of 2005 with three sites and 23 girls.  The fall 2010 and spring 2011 season had over 30 sites each season and 300 girls participated in the fall and 330 girls participated this spring.  The Greater Knoxville council serves 5 counties including Knox, Anderson, Blount, Loudon, and Sevier.  Girls on the Run of Greater Knoxville began Girls on Track programming in the spring of 2008.Girls on the Run programming is designed for elementary school girls while Girls on Track focuses on issues for girls in middle school.
